☕️ European coffee shop edition

Fancy some Covid with your coffee? Probably not!

Using CO2 as a proxy for infection risk, we’re creating a guide to Berlin's best and worst ventilated coffee shops (and other venues), to help you decide where to enjoy your latte with less risk of getting sick.

If you have taken your own CO2 measurements in Berlin or other European locations, it would be great to add them to the database! You can add your own readings here.

You can also reach out to Breathe Clean Club on x.com where we'll be tweeting (X-ing?) about it and other related topics.

How CO₂ is measured

Limitations

<aside> 🫁 For every additional 400 CO₂ ppm above 400 ppm, rebreathed air fraction is +1%.

For example: At 2000ppm, 4% of the air you’re breathing was in someone else’s lungs, or 1 in 24 breaths is rebreathed air.

Please note! “Excellent” rated air quality does not mean no risk of Covid infection! See Limitations above.
